Silver Plated
About Khushvika
Khushvika Luxury Gifting is Jharna Chowdhury's shop at 5A Panditiya Road, in the stretch of South Kolkata between Deshapriya Park and Ballygunge. It sells one thing, properly: silver-plated pieces for gifting and the home.
Next door, run by the same family, is Gharana Namkeens, a pure-veg snack shop and bakery.
The board outside says it in three words: silver plated, luxury, gifting. Inside, the cabinets hold photo frames, puja pieces, urlis and serveware, candle stands, lamps and keepsake caskets, much of it set on real rose quartz and malachite, some of it finished in blue-green enamel.
Every piece is silver plated at 0.2 micron and sealed with a lacquered polish. That is written on the shop's own care card, and it is the honest description of what you are buying: real silver on the surface, protected from tarnish by the lacquer, at a fraction of sterling's price. The care page explains it plainly.
The shop sells face to face at the counter, 11 am to 8 pm. It also works to order: custom pieces and curated sets, silver plated over a solid brass base, with engraving and personalisation. Bulk orders for weddings, ceremonies and offices are taken with advance notice, and delivery can be arranged.
